A REVIEW ON MOUNT SEMERU ERUPTION WARNING ARTICLE: A CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Mount Semeru had erupted three times in 2021. The last eruption caused many victims. fact that there were death toll and citizens affected by the eruption, people started to blame PVMBG, as responsible government agency disaster since their duties are monitor volcano activities give prior warning who lived near volcano. A news article was written a few days after mount erupted. This contains explanations clarifications from PVMBG. Therefore, this current study aims review entitled “Mount issued on Dec 1, PVMBG claims”. There two problems addressed study; 1) “What social wrong does Tempo’s text reveal article?”; 2) ideology reflect article?”. In answering these problems, writer employed critical discourse analysis. method used is Critical Discourse Analysis. Furthermore, Fairclough's four stages dimensions approach of CDA used. sentences which show chosen analyzed using transitivity. findings insists they not for numbers victims eruption. needs try keep good image professionalism. solutions problem related involvement group message improvement geological mitigation programs.
